The Friends of Garthorne Road, while not fully established, now have a Facebook Page! We are keen to get as many people involved as possible and these days, Social Media is the way to go!
Garthorne Road is an important site forming part of the Forest Hill to New Cross Gate railway cutting, this is a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation as it contains probably the finest suite of railside wildlife habitat in London.
For health & safety reasons the site is closed to public access unless Council staff or volunteers are present to open them. We hope that if a Friends Group is established, we can open the site on a more regular basis so that more people can see inside this wonderful site.
